Wisconsin Science Festival Seeks Proposals
The 2012-2013 academic year will be the Year of Innovation on the UW-Madison campus, and the 2012 Wisconsin Science Festival will help launch that year by celebrating innovation on every level. The Festival seeks proposals for engaging activities that explore new ways of thinking, learning, communicating and more. We welcome proposals from UW-Madison faculty, students and staff as well as members of the broader community engaged in science, the arts or creativity.
Which Wisconsin company would you nominate for the BCA 10?
The BCA 10: Best Companies Supporting the Arts in America recognizes businesses of all sizes for their exceptional involvement with the arts that enrich the workplace, education, and the community. These companies set the standard of excellence and serve as role models for others to follow. In 2011, the Kohler Company was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame.

FY 2013 Creative Communities Phase 1 Application Now Available
The Creative Communities grant program has been revised into a two phase application process. Fewer dollars for the Arts Board to put into these grants = fewer hours for you to put into the application. To keep it simple, the first phase will “vet” your project idea. If it’s strong, you’ll be invited to put in additional hours with the idea that you have a good chance of being funded. If it’s not strong, you won’t have to invest additional hours on a long shot.
The purpose of the Creative Communities grants program remains that of encouraging arts education and community arts development in Wisconsin. It provides support for projects that further the Arts Board’s goals in the following three areas:
- Arts Education
- Folk and Traditional Arts
- Local Arts
Applicants are welcome to submit one proposal to one of these three categories per year. Applicants to the Creation and Presentation program are not eligible to apply for a Creative Communities grant.
February 24, 2012 at 3:00 pm is the deadline for all Phase 1 applications.
