This position will support the good work of the Arts Board by maintaining and updating the health of the agency's databases; providing assistance to grant applicants in navigating our online grant system; serving as one of two agency liaisons to Smart Simple, the current online grant database provider; supporting grant panel meetings; and creating reports from the database for board and staff as needed.
Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of the Arts Board, this position is responsible for the Arts Board's database collection systems and serves as 1st level IT support and liaison for agency information technology systems (software and hardware). Responsibilities include the development of training and procedures to standardize input and processing of agency data; coordination of the web-based grant application system, and award process in relation to the grant cycle calendar utilizing research methods and evaluation techniques; participation in relevant computer work groups, training sessions, informational resource workshops and other professional activities. This position is currently also responsible for much of the agency's accounting and procurement duties. Finally, this position staffs the board's Accessibility Committee.

Salary Information
The hourly rate for the IS Resources Support Tech-Senior position will be $25.98 per hour, plus excellent benefits. This classification is non-exempt, and assigned to pay schedule/range 06-14. A 12-month probationary period will be required for this position. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin Compensation Plan.
Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, Arts Board will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. Arts Board does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.
This hybrid position is headquartered at the Arts Board's office in Madison, WI (3319 West Beltline Highway, Madison, WI 53708). The position has the option of working up to 80% remote upon agreement with the supervisor. This position works in the Madison office a minimum of four days per month for in-person, collaborative meetings with Arts Board staff. Travel to a national conference and a national accessibility meeting might be required each year. This schedule may change based on operational needs and organizational requirements. Employees will be required to report to the Madison office on their first day of employment and work in the office a minimum of one day per week for the first three months of employment. More days per week may be required for the first three months. High-speed internet access is required to meet the needs of remote work.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all the following:
- Experience providing excellent customer service (e.g., identifying customer needs and wants, providing service or information to meet or exceed customer's expectation, demonstrating excellent written and/or verbal skills when interacting with customers)
- Experience with creating reports and/or analyzing data
- Experience troubleshooting user issues with computer hardware and/or software (e.g., exploring issues accessing online content, checking the computer hardware is connected correctly, providing screenshots and written documentation of unresolved issues for the IT team)
In addition to having all the items listed above, a well-qualified applicant will have at least one of the following:
- Knowledge of procurement policies, procedures, and/or systems
- Experience with project management (e.g., creating list of deliverables, establishing timelines, coordinating with other staff, providing written and/or verbal updates to management)
- Experience with working with people with disabilities and/or disability language
