Architecturally
Integrated
This
pilot program is intended for specific construction projects that have
allocations of $75,000 or more and that meet additional criteria. In this
process, an artist is selected early in the construction schedule to
collaborate with the architects in designing an element or elements of the
building or an artwork to be integrated into the structure of the building.
Percent for Art projects with large budgets and lengthy construction schedules
may be appropriate for this process. The selection committee for a Design
Team/Architecturally Integrated project chooses from a pre-screened pool of
artists who have particular expertise in architecturally integrated artwork.
These artists' slides are kept on file at the Wisconsin Arts Board. The
selected artist is contracted to work in collaboration with the architect
through design development, fabrication, and installation stages of the
project.
When there are Architecturally Integrated project openings, experienced
Midwest artists will be invited to apply for listing in a pre-screened roster.
