
The Arts and Thriving Communities
Interested in making your community an even better place to live, work
and play? Business owners, local government representatives, community
members, arts groups, and artists – this is your call to action! Join us for
a dynamic 2-day workshop, Community Development: The arts as a key element
in thriving communities, where you will work directly with community
development experts and long-time arts activists. Through individual
consultation, study guides and interactive explorations, participants will
learn best practices in addressing common challenges faced by communities
throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest.
What? The Arts as a Key Element in Thriving Communities - workshop
When? Wednesday - Thursday, July 23-24, 2008 (8:00 am-5:00 pm each
day)
Where? The workshop will be a "pre-conference" to the annual School of
the Arts at Rhinelander. Fireside Center at Nicolet College, 5364 College
Drive, Rhinelander WI
How Much? $250 for first registration from each community. $100 for
additional registrations from represented communities.
Included in each registration fee:
- individual phone consultation with a workshop leader prior
to the workshop;
- a copy of the book The Arts in the Small Community;
- lunch and breaks both days;
- ticket to the National Art Opening Reception on Tuesday
evening
