In February 2013, the Wisconsin Historical Museum presented a lecture series in conjunction with the Wisconsin Arts Board's "Wisconsin Folks" exhibit.  The featured artists shared stories of their upbringing, culture, and creative practice.  The series schedule is listed below.

Teju the Storyteller
Tejumola Ologboni is a master storyteller of international renown whose stories reflect on longstanding and contemporary cultural perspectives to give listeners greater understanding of the profound influence of African heritage on our traditions and indentities. 

Saturday, February 9

Omeyocan Dance Company, featuring Roberto Franco
The Omeyocan Dance Company seeks to enrich both audience and dancers alike with an appreciation and an enhanced cultural awareness of Mexico's storied past and vivid traditions. 

1:30-2:30pm
Ojibwe Songwriting, with Bobby Bullet
Bobby Bullet St. Germaine is a country music singer/songwriter whose music both explores his personal history and wrestles with issues important to the Lac du Flambeau community.

Tuesday, February 19

Civil War Quilts and Stories, with Pat Ehrenberg
Join quiltmaker Pat Ehrenberg as she discusses the historical use and significance of quilts and quiltmaking during the American Civil War.

Saturday, February 23rd

Woodland Flutes, with Frank Montano
Join musician and Woodland flute maker Frank Montano as he shares his knowledge of this unique and historic instrument.

Iroquois Raised Beadwork, with Karen Ann Hoffman
Join Karen Ann Hoffman, member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, as she dons her traditional Iroquois women's regalia to demonstrate the cultural significance of Iroquois Raised Beadwork.
