The Wisconsin Arts Board (WAB) congratulates Milwaukee-based Badger Meter for being recognized by the Business Council for the Arts as one of our nation’s top arts friendly businesses.
"We’re delighted to have partnered with the United Performing Arts Fund and The Water Council in our successful nomination of Badger Meter for this honor,” said George Tzougros, WAB Executive Director. “This well-deserved award is because Badger Meter both understands that the performing arts improve the quality of life in Southeastern Wisconsin and actively works with the arts community to offer important arts education opportunities, boost the economy, and engage diverse audiences.”
Tzougros continued, “Our nomination also specifically highlighted the leadership of Rich Meeusen, the company’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, who is a key spokesperson for the need for STEAM vs. STEM. Adding Art and Design to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) transforms research policy, encourages integration in education, and influences employers to hire artists and designers to drive innovation.”
