Check out the Public Artworks of Wisconsin map and get inspired!
Finding great public art in Wisconsin is as easy as a click of the mouse with the Public Artworks of Wisconsin interactive map launched by the Wisconsin Arts Board. The Lieutenant Governor and the Wisconsin Arts Board are thrilled to announce this exciting addition to the agency’s website.
“This project brings together in one virtual space the excellent work that has been done in and for the people of this state,” said Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton, who chairs the board that oversees the Wisconsin Arts Board. “We hope that it helps further appreciation of the art works that have been created and provides another path for people to enjoy them. By using this online tool, people can create their own tours or incorporate visits into trips they have already planned."
The Public Artworks of Wisconsin is an interactive map highlighting more than 130 art installations commissioned through the state’s Percent for Art Program. Featuring photos and a brief description of artwork by contemporary, professional artists – from paintings to sculptures, tapestries to photographs – this map allows both art lovers and travelers to discover and explore the state’s significant public art collection.
