The Arts In The Milwaukee Public Schools

The Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) budget will soon be released. It is no secret that the fiscal challenges faced by the administration and board will require tough decisions. All of us who support the arts and creativity in education must participate in developing creative solutions to these fiscal challenges.

Wisconsin Arts Board Executive Director, George Tzougros, invites you to attend an important meeting to gain knowledge about the upcoming MPS budget, the state of the arts at MPS, and the roles you must play as this democratic process unfolds.

Here are the meeting details:

The Arts in the Milwaukee Public Schools

Who: Milwaukee artists and representatives of Milwaukee’s arts organizations

Date: Friday, April 23, 2010

Time: 10 am – noon

Location: Redline Milwaukee, 1422 N. 4th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53212

This will be a lively meeting. You will learn about the current number of art and music teachers and the projected position decreases for the coming school year.
