New Economic Data

The BEA & NEA released new data revealing that in 2016 the arts & cultural sector contributed $804.2 billion to (4.3 % of) the U.S. economy. State level reports are also available. Wisconsin's report is here.

On March 24, Governor Tony Evers directed DHS to issue a 'Safer at Home' order beginning March 25. Here​ are some resources to help WI's arts and creative sector.

Federal Arts Funding within the CARES Act
The US Senate has passed a $2 trillion emergency stimulus package.  Today the House of Representatives is to take up the package, and if passed, the President will sign the bill as soon as possible.

Governor Tony Evers and DHS Secretary-designee Andrea Palm ordered a moratorium on mass gatherings of 10 people or more to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, effective at 5pm on Tuesday, March 17th.
  
Daeja Loew is Wisconsin’s 2020 Poetry Out Loud Champion
Daeja Loew, a senior at Altoona High School, won the State Final championship of the Wisconsin Poetry Out Loud competition held Saturday, March 7, 2020 at UW-Madison.  Ms. Loew competed against eight other winning contestants from across the state.
