Social Prescription is Coming to Wisconsin

For the past two years, the Wisconsin Arts Board has been working with partners across our state, and our nation, to bring social prescribing to Wisconsin.

Social Prescription (Social Rx) is an innovative and evidence-based practice in both the United States and across the globe where health providers prescribe arts, cultural, and nature activities free-of-cost for patients in community settings to holistically address an individual’s specific health issues and unmet needs such as poor mental health, substance misuse, chronic disease, and social isolation.

On behalf of the Wisconsin Arts Board, the WI Social Rx Steering Committee and SocialRx, we are happy to announce that social prescribing is officially coming to Wisconsin!

Join one of the upcoming webinars exploring how the arts community (and others) can support whole-person health through community connection so that everyone benefits.

  • Learn what social prescribing is (and isn’t)
  • See how cross-sector partnerships are making it real
  • Find out how to get involved in 2026

Let’s build a healthier, more connected Wisconsin — forward.
