The Wisconsin Arts Board will soon complete the yearlong celebration of its 50th Anniversary and the extraordinary work it has done in partnership with artists, arts organizations, schools, community organizations, tribal nations and local governments over those years, in service to the people of Wisconsin. Thanks to all who have been able to join us so far at our regional celebrations, and to those who will join us in Eau Claire this month, and at our virtual celebration via Zoom next month. We learn so much from you at these gatherings.
The information and ideas that you have shared/will share with us will in turn help us formulate our 2025-2027 agency funding request to the Governor and Legislature. That request will include an increase to the agency's current budget so that we may support the important work that you, our constituents, are doing across the state.
We have one more invitation to you, related to this. Including specific examples from you within the detailed information that we provide to those decisionmakers – in order to back up why an increase should and must be supported – will make the case for this increase more compelling. Your voice will add greater weight and urgency to our ask.
