Along with Governor Evers and Department of Tourism, we want to highlight National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW), which extends from May 4th through May 10th. Last week was busy, with Governor Evers and Department of Tourism Secretary Anne Sayers wrapping up a statewide tour celebrating NTTW, during which they visited art and history museums, state parks and trails, and communities across the state.
We also want to highlight our relationship with the Department of Tourism, and the work they do to help uplift and promote the arts. Specifically, the Department of Tourism's Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) Grant Program is a resource that works to promote arts tourism, and reflects the Department of Tourism's understanding of the arts as a creativity, culture, community, and commerce powerhouse.
In FY2025, John Michael Kohler Arts Center, American Players Theatre, City of Wauwatosa, Joy Engine Inc, Santa Cause, Milwaukee Art Museum, Jewish Museum Milwaukee, Peninsula School of Art, Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Racine Zoological Society, Inc., LaCrosseAF - Adventure Festival, Northland Community Club, Ridges & Rivers Incorporated, Eau Claire Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce, Oshkosh Public Museum, Waaswaaganing Indian Bowl Living Arts & Culture Center, Destination Lake Winnebago Region, Paine Art Center & Gardens, and Mack Glass Community all recieved JEM grants from the Department of Tourism, further supporting the arts in Wisconsin!
Below are a few photos of JEM grantees working within the arts in Wisconsin, and you may find a full list of JEM grantees here.
