Adamah Art Studios, part of the Bethel Horizons campus, is dedicated to providing transformative arts experiences through hands-on workshops, community programming, and immersive creative retreats. Located in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, in the scenic Driftless Region, Adamah offers a welcoming environment where people of all ages can explore pottery, glass, watercolor, and mixed-media arts in a supportive, nature-centered setting. Our mission is rooted in cultivating creativity, fostering community, and offering spaces where individuals can grow both artistically and personally.
Founded to combine the healing power of nature with the expressive potential of the arts, Adamah has grown into a regional hub for creative learning. We host nationally recognized artists, skilled local instructors, and emerging educators who share their expertise through weeklong workshops, weekend intensives, youth programs, intro classes, and community events. Our programming is intentionally designed to meet the needs of beginners, experienced makers, and professional artists alike, ensuring that every participant can find a point of entry into the creative process.
Our ceramics studio is fully equipped for both beginner and advanced work, featuring 20 pottery wheels, handbuilding areas, a glaze mixing studio, and a kiln shed. Our kiln offerings include electric, gas, raku, and an Anagama woodfire kiln, allowing artists to experiment with a wide range of firing techniques and surface effects. The all-purpose studio provides space for glass work, watercolor, and mixed-media projects, while our summer studio hosts community classes and youth camps, offering younger participants a welcoming space to explore their creativity. These facilities allow Adamah to deliver high-quality instruction and provide technical support for diverse artistic practices.
Beyond the studios, Adamah’s location enhances the retreat experience. Guests have access to 18 comfortable retreat rooms, creating an immersive workshop experience with optional lodging. Every day, participants enjoy buffet-style meals prepared by our onsite executive chef, adding nourishment and convenience to the creative retreat. The campus features 8 miles of hiking trails, sandstone bluffs, and direct proximity to Governor Dodge State Park, offering a serene, inspiring environment that complements artistic practice. Many participants find that the combination of studio work, great food, and connection to the natural world is essential to their creative growth.
Today, Adamah Art Studios continues to expand its programs, partnerships, and community engagement while staying grounded in its core values—creativity, curiosity, craftsmanship, and connection. Through scholarships, donation-based events, youth outreach, and community collaborations, Adamah works to make the arts accessible and meaningful for all. Whether attending a workshop, exploring the trails between studio sessions, or taking their first intro class, participants discover a place where they feel welcomed, supported, and inspired to realize their creative potential.
