Welcome to our series, Spotlighting Wisconsin! This series spotlights arts organizations across the state (including some of our wonderful grantees), and showcases the amazing work they do in their communities, along with sharing the why, or what drives them as an organization to do the work they do.
House of RAD (Resident Artist Doers)
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
The House of Resident Artists Doers LLC. was established in 2020 by multidisciplinary artist, Brandon Minga. It started in a small in a 1,000 sq ft space in Riverwest, where a handful of artists built lofted studios and creative infrastructure during the early phase of the pandemic. In its next iteration and location, it expanded its facilities to ~13,000 sq ft with roughly 18 members. Then continued to grow to include 35,000+ sq ft with 60+ members, significantly expanding its creative footprint. It recently relocated to a new address at 324 N 12th St in the historic Design District, in a 67,000 sq ft building that will eventually become its long-term home (with the Aether Society). House of RAD is poised to grow even further with the Aether Society project—an adaptive reuse of a historic industrial space into a comprehensive artist incubator and creative hub. This future phase aims to include expanded studios, fabrication labs, gallery space, and event areas to serve artists and the public. Built on a foundation of solidarity and mutual support, it fuels creativity and fosters deep connections within our community. We empower artists and partners with resources, support, and platforms that amplify their work, enriching creators and audiences. Through interdisciplinary exhibitions and experiences, we invite everyone to immerse themselves in the collective vision, expanding the possibilities of how art is perceived and experienced.

House of RAD has many upcoming events, like the exhibition below, or the open studio event and clay techniques class hosted by residents, Anchor Press, Paper and Print & Mudd Club.
